Today’s Marathi Shala session was a perfect blend of learning, meditation, and fun activities. We had a great turnout, with 36 kids in Batch 1 and 21 kids in Batch 2, making for an exciting and engaging day for everyone!
Batch 1: Focus on Shlokas, Swar, and Vyanjane
The session for Batch 1 started with the chanting of Shlokas, which is always a beautiful way to begin. Our students then moved into a special meditation session led by our guest speaker, Pooja Bhosle Ji, who introduced breathing techniques to help the kids improve their concentration. She explained how meditation and mindful breathing can support focus, especially for school studies. Daily practice of 10 min mediation after Shubhan Karoti will boost their grasping power, mental stability, concentration and patience. These will be the most important, unique qualities to stand out of the crowd in today’s competition world.
It was a fantastic way for our kids to understand the importance of mental clarity.
In Group 1, the focus was on Swar and Vyanjane. Our teachers, including Suhasini Ji, Vaishali Ji, Vidyut Ji, Smita Ji, and parent volunteers were present to guide the kids through the exercises.
Group 2, led by Sucheta Ji and myself, focused on Vyanjane with a special lesson on the letters श (sh), ष (shha), and स (s), including writing practice. It was followed by a fun and interactive activity, where the kids sits in circle and said Var in Marathi from “रविवार, सोमवार, मंगळवार, बुधवार, गुरुवार, शुक्रवार, शनिवार, keeping their learning engaging and hands-on.
Fun Learning Activities
After the writing and word formation exercises, we moved on to a fun activity where Batch 1 Group 1 revisited the Swar using songs and pictures, helping the kids reinforce their learning in a playful way. Then, we completed the session with a story that illustrated the significance of each letter and word learned.
Batch 2 Group 2 continued with a recap of Swar and Vyanjane, reinforcing what they had learned so far. They also participated in an interactive activity where they formed words using letters, led by our amazing teachers Yogesh Ji, Urmila Ji, and Laxmikant Ji. The kids created word flowers using the letters, which was a creative way to further enhance their learning and teamwork.
Batch 2: Focus on Meditation and Word Building
Batch 2 also benefited from Pooja Bhosle Ji’s meditation session, which included breathing exercises aimed at enhancing focus. The kids enjoyed the session and were eager to discuss how these techniques could help them improve their concentration in school.
Following the meditation, Batch 2 focused on Swar and Vyanjane recaps. Group 1 worked on completing Vyanjane, while Group 2 worked on forming words using the letters. The interactive group activity allowed the kids to creatively combine the letters and form meaningful words, and the teachers facilitated this process effectively.

A Memorable Day of Meditation, Learning, and Fun
Today’s session was a wonderful balance of mindfulness, learning, and fun. The meditation helped our kids focus better, and the activities allowed them to apply what they were learning in a hands-on and enjoyable way. It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm from both kids and teachers alike, and we are grateful for the guidance of our guest speakers and the hard work of our volunteers and teachers.
Thank you to all the parents and volunteers for supporting today’s session. Your continued involvement plays a vital role in the success of our Marathi Shala and the growth of our kids. Looking forward to the next session and more fun learning experiences!
