Today’s Marathi Shala session was a blend of learning and fun, as we continued to encourage our young scholars to explore the beauty of the Marathi language and culture. With a good turnout of 36 students in Batch 1 and 22 students in Batch 2, the atmosphere was full of excitement and engagement. Here’s a detailed recap of today’s session:
Batch 1 – Group 1: Marathi Learning and Show-and-Tell
In today’s session, Batch 1 Group 1 started with a focus on Swar (vowels). Our young learners practiced and refined their understanding of Swar through engaging activities and songs. To make learning more interactive, we also held a Show-and-Tell session, where students brought items from home and explained them in Marathi. This helped build their vocabulary and encouraged them to use Marathi in everyday conversations. The excitement and confidence in the room as kids shared their items in Marathi were truly heartwarming.
Batch 1 – Group 2: Vyanjane and Word Making
Meanwhile, Batch 1 Group 2 worked on Vyanjane (consonants), focusing on the letters “Ha” and “La”. Students learned how to form words using these letters, further building their language skills. Afterward, the class participated in an activity where the teacher showed pictures, and the kids had to identify the words they saw. This interactive exercise helped them connect words with images, making learning both fun and meaningful.
Batch 2 – Word Making and Movie Name Activity
In Batch 2, Teacher Puja Ji, along with volunteers Laxmikant Ji, Urmila Ji, Amruta Ji, and myself, conducted a session focused on Marathi word making. The students worked on forming words and were engaged in a fun activity where they tried to match words with movie names. This activity encouraged the kids to think creatively and broaden their vocabulary.
Paschimrang Diwali Ank 2024 Launch
Between 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM, we had an exciting milestone – the launch of our much-awaited “Paschimrang Diwali Ank 2024”! Our Diwali Ank editorial head, Gayatri Ji, took the stage to explain the journey of creating the Diwali Ank. She shared a glimpse of the wonderful content that has been contributed by our students, parents, and community members. This year’s Diwali Ank is filled with stories, poems, articles, and creative works that showcase the talent and spirit of our Marathi community. We are thrilled to see how this project has come together and are excited to share it with everyone.
A Big Thank You
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the teachers, volunteers, and students for their continued support and participation in today’s session. The energy, creativity, and enthusiasm shown by our students were truly inspiring. A special thanks to Gayatri Ji for her leadership in the Diwali Ank editorial process and for giving us a sneak peek into this beautiful publication.
We also want to express our gratitude to all the parents who contribute by supporting their kids, helping them with assignments, and participating in our community events. It’s this kind of teamwork and dedication that makes Marathi Shala a unique and enriching experience for everyone involved.
