Another Interactive and Enjoyable Session at Marathi Shala (MH & Manteca) Jan 10th & 11th

Yesterday’s MH Marathi Shala session was another interactive, enjoyable, and productive day with 34 scholars in Batch 1 and 25 scholars in Batch 2, making a total of 59 students attending. The session primarily focused on Mid-Term Assessment Preparation, ensuring students were well-equipped for their upcoming evaluations. In the Manteca Shala Batch, 7 students attended and focused on letter reading and kite building with Sankranti Information.

Batch 1 Highlights

Group 1:

  • Introduced letters K, Kh, G (क, ख, ग) and revised previously learned Swar स्वर.
  • Learned a story using words starting with K, Kh, and G to enhance vocabulary and contextual understanding.
  • Played the Color Game, (रंग चा खेळ) an interactive way to reinforce learning.
  • Practiced the Sankranti Tilgul Song (तिळगुळ गाणे), bringing cultural relevance into the classroom.

Group 2:

  • Teachers explained the Assessment Swarup (परीक्षेचे स्वरूप ) and guided students through expectations.
  • Revised Prarthana/Shloks, Yoga poses, Swar and Vyanjane, and two and three-letter akarant words, all part of the assessment preparation.
  • Enjoyed a fun-filled game of Hands Up, Seven Up, conducted by volunteer Soham Patil, which added an element of joy to learning.

Batch 2 Highlights

  • Teachers explained the oral and written assessment structure to the students and parents.
  • Group 1: Focused on revising Swar, Vyanjane, colors, Marathi Divas, and numbers (Ank).
  • Group 2: Concentrated on Akaranti word-making, which expanded their vocabulary significantly.

The energy and enthusiasm among kids preparing for the assessments reminded us of our own childhood Pariksha Divas. It’s heartwarming to see the dedication of our scholars. You can watch the videos of the session to witness the excitement and “exam fever.”

Special Updates:

Kite Making for Makar Sankranti:
As part of the Makar Sankranti celebration, MH Shala distributed kite-making materials to students. Parents are encouraged to help their kids follow this tutorial: Kite Making Video. Parents can modify the kites based on their knowledge but are recommended to use sticking tape instead of glue due to the delicate paper.

Manteca Shala Highlights

In the Manteca Shala Batch, 7 students attended and focused on letter reading. New letters Pa and Ra were introduced, and students practiced forming words using these letters (Shabda). The session concluded with an interactive kite-making activity and a discussion on Makar Sankranti traditions.

Final Thoughts
