Marathi Shala Session Recap – March 8, 2025 – आपली मराठी शाळा आणि समुदाय

Today’s Marathi Shala session was filled with learning, fun activities, and inspirational stories about Anandibai Gopal Joshi (India’s first female doctor) and Kalpana Chawla (India’s first astronaut). We had a total of 49 kids in attendance—Batch 1: 30 scholars, Batch 2: 19 scholars.

Batch 1 – Group 1 Highlights:

✅ Started with Warm-up, Prarthana, and Shlokas
✅ Swar & Vyanjan revision along with Yere Yere Pausa song
✅ Revision of क, ख, ग and introduction to घ
✅ Interactive Games using Swar, क ख ग घ, and Numbers 🎲 ✅ Show and Tell Activity – Few kids participated and showcased their speaking skills
✅ Writing Practice – Many kids have improved their speed and some have started Vyanjan writing
✅ Brief discussion on Women’s Day and its importance
📌 Homework: Practice writing and bring an item related to Holi or talk 3-4 lines about Holi (food, colors, bonfire). Kids can also bring their colorful drawings for Show and Tell.

Batch 1 – Group 2 Highlights:

✅ Started with Shlokas & Yoga 🧘‍♀️ ✅ Divided into Focus Groups:

Group 1: Revised Swar & Vyanjan, focused on क, ख, ग, घ, च, छ, ज, झ, ट, ठ, ड, ढ, ण (reading & writing with simple words)
Group 2: Practiced writing small sentences & words and spoke about their favorite women personalities ✅ Activity: Learned about Anandibai Gopal – India’s first female doctor 🏥👩‍⚕️ 📌 Homework: Write any five sentences and revise Swar & Vyanjan.

Batch 2 Highlights:

✅ Started with Manache Shlok & Pasayadan
✅ Final Exam Update: Teachers announced final exams in early May 2025 📖
✅ Shiv Jayanti Program Discussion: Introduced the idea of kids performing Shivaji Maharaj’s Rajyabhishek Ceremony, and kids showed great interest 👑🚩
✅ Focus Groups:

Group 1: Revised Swar & Vyanjan up to क, ख, ग, घ, च, छ, ज, झ, ट, ठ & checked homework
Group 2: Learned Ikaranti and Ukaranti words & sentence formation ✅ Activity: Teachers showed a video on Kalpana Chawla and her achievements 🚀✨ ✅ Word Game: Played a fun word-building game that kids thoroughly enjoyed 🎲
📌 Takeaway: Learned about the qualities of strong women – Determination, Bravery, Commitment, and Leadership.
