We are thrilled to announce one of the most engaging and creative events of this year’s Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti Program – the Kille (Fort) Making Contest!
This unique contest celebrates the incredible architectural and strategic brilliance of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s forts while giving our community an opportunity to collaborate, learn, and showcase creativity.

What is the Contest About?

As a tribute to Shivaji Maharaj, each participating group will build a model of a pre-selected Killa (fort) — showcasing the philosophy, purpose, and administration strategy Maharaj implemented through these forts.

These models will be proudly displayed at our Shiv Jayanti event on May 17th, giving everyone a chance to appreciate your effort and learn more about Shivaji Maharaj’s strategic genius.

📋 Contest Rules & Guidelines:

1. 🧱 Model must be built on a Ply Board.
2. 📏 Board Size: No larger than 2ft x 2ft.
3. 💡 Model should be lightweight and portable.
4. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Group Participation: 2-3 families (including children) can form a group. Solo families can also participate.
5. 🧶 Use only non-harmful materials (e.g., cardboard, tins, cloth, colors, paper, etc.)
6. 🎥 Create a short video (minimum 2 minutes) explaining your fort, its strategic purpose, and any unique features.
7. 🗓️ Timeline: Start building anytime, but the Killa must be ready by May 10th.
8. 🏅 Every group will receive an award trophy, and each family will get a certificate of participation.
9. 🏰 Kille Selection: Each group will choose two forts. Contest leads will assign one based on availability to avoid duplicates.
10. 🌐 Use online resources (like Google) to research maps and fort details.

📌 Important Notes:

• All fort names are pre-selected to help you get started easily.
• Contest registration form includes fort name selection and full instructions.
• Judges may visit or contact groups for progress updates and guidance.
• Be creative, be informative, and above all, collaborate as true “मावळे” (protectors of Swarajya)!
