MH Marathi Shala Weekly Update – April 12, 2025

“Learning our Language, Living our Culture!”

Today’s MH Marathi Shala session was full of energy, enthusiasm, and enriching learning experiences. As always, our aim was to make learning Marathi fun, interactive, and meaningful for our young scholars.

👩‍🏫 Batch 1 Recap – 10:00 AM

Total Kids Joined: 27 (Balmandir + Group 1 & 2)

🌱 Balmandir (Group 1 – Beginners)

Our youngest learners began their day with:

  • Prarthana shlokas: Guru Brahma, Shubham Karoti, and Vakratunda Mahakaya
  • Practiced good manners and healthy habits
  • Sang the Swar-Vyanjan geet
  • Learned Marathi numbers from 1 to 20
  • Recognized and wrote letters and numbers on the board
  • Enjoyed the Yere Yere Pausa song, preparing for the Annual Day performance
  • Heard two Hanuman stories – one narrated, and one performed!
  • Learned days of the week through engaging activities
  • Discovered fruits in Marathi, their health benefits, and began writing practice

✍️ Group 2 Activities

  • Started with warm-up and Prarthana
  • Recapped Swar and Vyanjan
  • Created new sentences using simple words like Aai, Cup, and more — boosting both vocabulary and sentence construction skills!

📖 Batch 2 Recap – 11:30 AM

Total Kids Joined: 18 (Group 1 & 2)

The session opened with:

  • Manache Shlok, Pasaydan, and Ganesh Aarti
  • Group 1 focused on Marathi Vyanjane: , , , ,
  • Group 2 continued exploring Ikārānti, Ukārānti, and Velānti words, engaging in word formation activities

Kids were also introduced to:

  • Marathi Varna (parts of speech)
  • Names of animalsPālive (domestic) and Jāngle (wild) – which most kids recognized impressively!
  • An activity game involving making sentences with numbers, such as माझं वय १० वर्ष आहे” – a big hit with our scholars!

📚 Manteca Shala (Friday Session Highlights)

Friday’s Manteca Shala session included:

  • Shloks: Vakratunda Mahakaya, Guru Brahma, Shubham Karoti
  • Recap of Swar & Vyanjan: अ to च and more
  • Singing numbers 1 to 10
  • Introduction to colors in Marathi
  • Learning about time, color-related songs, and revision activities

Parents were reminded to:

  • Practice at home with kids
  • Ask them to come up with 3 words for each letter
  • Keep up with their writing and oral practice
